
A native Simpsonvillian, Officer Chip Minnis' entire policing career has been served in Shelby County. A graduate of Shelby County High School, Officer Minnis went on to earn a degree at Kentucky State University. Office Minnis' first twenty and one-half years of service was with the Shelbyville Police Department. There, he served in a variety of positions and worked his way up to the rank of Sergeant. Upon his retirement, he had moved up to the rank of Captain. Officer Minnis joined Simpsonville in 2007. He is married to wife, Vonda, and has five children. An avid sports enthusiast, officer Minnis also works with the Shelby County Parks and Recreation.
