Fee Waivers

Parks and Recreation offers fee waivers for some of our programs and services. Applications can be obtained at the Simpsonville City Offices M-F 8am-4pm. Proof of income, city residency, and a notarized affidavit of citizenship eligibility are required along with a non-refundable $5 administrative fee. Approval of fee waiver requests is based on Federal Poverty Guidelines as received from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Because some residents are unable to participate in our programs due to economic hardship, we do provide scholarships to offset certain fees and charges. Scholarship applications can be obtained at the Simpsonville City Offices M-F 8am-4pm. Scholarship applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the start of the program for which applying. Proof of income and city residency is required.

Space is Limited - Register Early!

Most programs have limited space available as well as registration deadlines. After the registration deadline please call for space availibility. Register online or in person from 8am-4pm at the Simpsonville City Offices, 108 Old Veechdale Road.

Nothing cancels a good program quicker than everyone waiting until the last minute to register. If there are not enough registrations by the registration deadline, the program may be cancelled. Coming in on the day the course begins won't resurrect it! A program may also reach its maximum capacity before the registration deadline, so register early.

Inclusive Approach to Recreation

Simpsonville Parks and Recreation is committed to an inclusive approach to recreation. Inclusion is individuals with and without disabilities participating in recreation activities together. All of our programs are inclusive to people with and without disabilities.

Reasonable accomodations are individualized techniques and resources used to enhance program participation without fundamentally altering a program.

How to request reasonable accomodation:

Refund Policy

No refunds are provided after the first day of the program. All refunds are subject to a $5 processing fee. If the $5 fee does not cover costs incurred by the Department, the refund may be pro-rated in addition to the $5 fee. Full refunds are given for all programs cancelled by Parks and Recreation. Allow four weeks for refund requests to be processed.

Substitution Policy

Parks and Recreation reserves the right to use substitute instructors and alternate facilities when necessary.

Photo Policy

Parks and Recreation staff may videotape or take photos of participants in programs and at special events or of people in the parks or on park properties. These photos may be used in future program guides, brochures, fliers or other materials used to promote Parks and Recreation.
